This abstraction model aims to represent the key architectural features of the Maritime and Beachcombers Museum designed by the Dutch firm Mecanoo. The facade elements allow for a deeper penetration of natural light as well as a passive shading mechanism. Moreover, the generous transparency of the envelope reinforces the connection with the wider community as well as a playful pattern generation from the light and shadow configurations on the interiors.
The angularity of the roof, inspired by the roofline of adjacent traditional Dutch houses, adds visual interest.
